who to fly to america with?

hi. i am hoping to get to america sometime. either flying into washington dc or baltimore. have been over twice before with klm and virgin.

i was wondering if anyone could recommend an airline that is good and not too expensive.

also has anyone done any long haul with a 1 year old.

American Airlines have much better seat pitch in coach than any others. 34 or 35 inches I think, plays Virgins 30! I went when was 7 months pg and could get out of inside seat without dh getting up.
