If I want to rent a villa abroad with nice own pool for 4-6 people for about 2 weeks time where would I start?

Depends where you want to go. Some sites in the country you want to go to might have a bit more choice.

Owners Abroad is a good website, we've rented a few Tuscan villas (with private pool) through them with no problems. You may need to get somewhere bigger than you strictly need, otherwise you may end up in an apartment complex

owners direct is a good one. my mil uses it at least 3 timeas a year and always gets a good deal

I second OwnersDirect and also holidaylettings.co.uk. Tend to be much cheaper as there are no agents' fees to contend with.

Watch out for Spain though - they are supposed to be having an air traffic controllers' strike in 2 weeks - just when we are booked to go

Villaplus.com are good - we've used them for the past four years and would always go back to them. We've used Owners Direct in the past as well.
