Anyone been to Majorca in mid October? Want to know if the weather will be warm enough for swimming in sea/unheated pool. Or if anyone's got a villa/appartment recommendation for anywhere else warmish (Canaries? Cyprus?) at that time of year. Many thanks

We went mid October last year and hope to go for half term. It was t shirt and shorts temperatures but prone to being windy with showers on a couple of days. You could swim in the sea but the red flag was out on a few of the days we were there but swimming in a pool wasn't a problem although a bit too cold for my comfort.

Think October is pretty quiet anyway. We stayed in Playa de Palma just south of Palma towarsd S'Arenal. It was really a German/Dutch orientated resort (we booked with a Swiss tour operator!) and tacky to say the least but had a short transfer from airport. Have heard that the East and North East coasts are nice for families so we hope to head towards Alcudia or Pollensa this time.
