My dd is 4.5 and myself and my DP want to go to Scotland for the bank holiday weekend as all his family are there. Anyone now a place to stay (hotel or Haven type thing) which caters for a 'needs constant entertaining' 4.5 year old which wont break the bank?

there is a place near aviemore called Dalfaber, you can rent log cabins and there are loads of things to do nearby (although not all in aviemore, which isnt that fantastic) like the highland wildlife centre, (safari park), water sports, fishing etc, plus they have a centre in the grounds which has a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, etc plus all the log cabins are situated in a golf course that is not too difficult or snobby for families

there is also a nice place near Huntingtower near Perth, where you can rent log cabins also. there are things nearby such as horse riding, little car race tracks for kids etc, and in the grounds is a really nice hotel for meals and drinks etc

perth has horse racing and a swimming pool, hill walking (for families) and a river.

there are also quite a few highland games on nearby just now

there is also a best western hotel in pitlochry that has rooms specifically geared towards families, and pitlochry is a great place, tons of things to do

Thanks everyone.
Aimsmum, hoseasons one is a lot cheaper than the craig tara one (about £200 cheaper!) Did you not rate the Hoseasons one?

Ive left it pretty late - most places seem to be quite booked up or only have luxury places left - sorry to go on - but anyone else with any ideas, please feel free to pass them on! If not, i will have to stay with the inlaws - which is not s good situation really, dp and his mother rub each other up the wrong way - actually, mil rubs everyone up the wrong way.

Half board is about £20 cheaper and the hoseasons one is an extra night for the cheaper price. Ive never stayed anywhere than friends and family in Scotland, i wanted to suprise DP and dd when they got home tonight but its not looking good!

There's some gorgeous beaches near Seaton Sands - Gullane beach is one of my alltime faves.

Gullane
