You're probably thinking of Majorca as Menorca isn't really touristy. I've been to Cala'n Forcat on the south of the island. Not too quiet, yet not too busy. Nice bars, restaurants, loverly beaches and a nice big waterpark if you don't fancy the sand!!! Great shopping too!!!
Sorry but I can't answer the other question but I hoped I helped a little bit.

Menorca gorgeous. We stayed in San Bou (DTs were conceived there). Fornell, the fishing port is lovely. In fact the whole island is gorgeous and as it is only 35miles long you could stay anywhere and get everywhere easily.

I agree with the others Menorca is lovely and very fortunate not to be spoiled by lager louts. We stayed here . Very very quiet resort, but beautiful and lovely beach, lots of little play parks for children, you would need a car to get about though (but well worth it). As you can see I am passionate about Menorca!!

ive been to menorca 7 times - i know i know parents loved it when i was a kid!
I stayed there last year with dd and booked an appt with a private owner and got a penthouse suite - lurrrvly. Done calan forcat, son bou and lots of others. Last year stayed at a place called santa thomas and it was v v quiet, a few hotels, 3 or 4 shops and about 3 restaurants. It was lovely tho - just nice, quiet and peaceful. thing about menorca is that its such a small island that you can be anywhere on it within an hour or so!

The place fimbo is talkin about is a lovely hotel and the restaurant attached to it is the nices on the resort. there are a few parks there aswell on the resort. it really is only a short road - thats the whole resort.

My parents used to go ending there holiday on 25th sep as my mums birthday. warm enough for shorts and t shirts but not boiling hot for my dads balding head!!! hehe.
