Hi

Planning a trip next Easter to Sydney and are looking at stopover options. We normally fly with Singapore and stop in Singapore but this time we are prob flying Quantas so have an option of Hong Kong. Has anyone any experience of HK with small kids for a short stay ( kids are 5/3 and 3months)....?

Thanks !

Hi there, are you considering Bangkok or Hong Kong?
Bangkok is a fun city - you can take boat rides on the river (James Bond style) and tuktuks to the Royal Palace where there is lots of funny statues of gold buddhas and weird demons that the 5 & 3 yo might enjoy. Also you can see the odd elephant pottering about the streets which you can feed bananas to (for a fee!) for good luck.
I don't know HK - but I think you'd enjoy BK, and the Thai people are really lovely and friendly.

Bangkok as your title or Hongkong as your thread?!

Wouldn't do bangkok at the moment with the political unrest.

Hong Kong is a busy place but one of my favourite cities. Outwith the city (around half an hour I think) there is a lovely beach area with Theme Park.

I'd suggest HK but I've not done it since the children were born.

Bangkok is amazing, we stayed at the Marriott and found this ideal

There are two Marriotts in bankok, one in the city cneter and one on the riverside a little way from the center, I loved the riverside Marriott and as at the time I worked for Marriott I got a v very good deal Smile but you could shop around and haggle Grin

The bell boys looked after me and I got a taxi to the palace and for the three of us, entry and the taxi to the palace and the big buda it was around £15 which was ideal for me as we came and went as long as we wanted and with a 3 year old we were gone just three hours in the heat.
