Just brought a Merlin Annual Pass on LEGOLAND's website, they offer money to spend in the park if you buy online!

I just brought a Merlin Annual Pass online as a family treat as we are not going on holiday this year and we wanted some days out around the UK. Could not find any discounts off the pass but found on LEGOLAND's website if you buy a Merlin Annual Pass online you get £25 to spend in the park! I thought this was great as it meant we can go into the lego shop they have there and also buy an icecream or 2!!!I am excited to go to all the attractions this year.

Thank you for posting this as your first post. I like Legoland very much, but I find it overpriced. However, I hope you have a lovely time there whenever you go.

Legoland is hell - my three love lego, but we will not ever return.

To be fair, Legoland isn't hell if you can go on a weekday in term time (there are no queues and you can go round and round on most of the rides without having to get off). It's the seventh circle of hell in the school holidays and weekends.

But yes, interesting first post.

Thank you for your comments, I am going next week so will let you know how I get on. I am a little worried about the queues but my son is so excited!! It is hard to find places to go in the summer holidays that are not busy don't you think?

Mmmm. But Legoland is the busiest place I have ever been with dc - and I've done London Zoo, Chessington, Alton Towers, Whipsnade, The British Museum, Princess Di Memorial playground, Blackpool Pleasure Beach ...

Good luck, though - you'll need it! Make sure you write your mobile no on your son, as I think it would be very easy to get separated. And don't pay extra for parking nearby - it's not worth it! And have fun.

There may be conditions attached to the Legoland Money - for example are you sure it can be used to by icecream from all retail points? I suspect it can be used at most fixed places - so the main shops/restaurants. Would be interested to know if you manage to get it accepted at the carts. Would also be interested to hear what happens about giving change... I suspect getting change isn't an option.

And there are certaonly conditions attached to your Merlin Pass:

NO entry into Madame Tussauds (London), The London Eye, SEA LIFE London Aquarium and London Dungeon during the whole of August;

NO entry into Thorpe Park on Fright Night dates;

NO entry to the London Eye on 14 February, 30 October and 31 October;

and NO entry to the London Dungeon on 30 October and 31 October.

Pshaw!

But who in their right mind would want to go to any of those places on those dates? They are pretty close to Hell crowd-wise too (mind you, going to Legoland in August is pretty unbalanced behaviour, and they let you do that with a standard Merlin pass).
