Has anyone been to a first choice holiday village and if so how did you find it? Looking on the website they look amazing, maybe a little pricey so was wondering if they are really worth the extra pennies?

We went to the one in Egypt and it was lovely - although due to the heat I wouldn't consider it for July/August when temps can be in the high 40's!!

Would be perfect for October or Feb half terms though. Pools were great with slides etc and loads of activities and clubs for them to get involved in and give you some time by yourselves!

We went to the one in Mallorca last September. We didn't particularly enjoy it though as it rained most of the week and it just felt a bit like Butlins. There was loads going on for kids - 3yo DD loved the children's club and the show in the evenings, they also had a fab splash pool for younger ones.

The main problem was that you just couldn't get away from the constant noise from the entertainment, by which I mean the screeching reps trying to get you to join in the rubbish music quiz (which mainly consisted on Backstreet Boys and Hear Say) or singing like an early reject from x factor. Whilst its nice to do some family activities together on this kind of holiday, it would be great of there was some quite space for adults to chill out whilst the kids are having fun in the kids club.

Also the food wasn't very good - main restaurant was like a very noisy school canteen.

Not my cup of tea at all, but lots of people do seem to love them.
