So desperate to hear about your last minute bargains ...PLEASE!!!

So usually I am nice and organised and book our holiday months in advance. Thought we would leave it until the last minute this summer as we have been crazily busy ... but I am absolutely hopeless. I have burnt up hours and hours, sat up every night, and got nowhere whatsoever. I am rubbish!!!

So.......if anyone has booked last minute a high quality four star hotel on a beach in Europe at a great rate (money an issue at the moment)I am so desperate to hear from you. Otherwise I will probably stay at home and learn my lesson : (((

Hi Arizona - I haven't done it this year (still haven't booked) but last year, I worked myself up into a lather last minute and booked a week for me, dp and dd in Majorca through teletext. It was a nightmare.

Please please be very careful.

I don't want to go into it too much but, suffice to say an All Inclusive 1 week (nearly £600 each), we thought ok, the hotel was in the middle of nowhere and we had to get a little 'train' to the beach, there wasn't even a village to walk to because the terrain was dangerous, oh I won't go on, but also dd (17) in same pokey room, tripping over each other, no aircon, couldn't swing a mouse on the balcony even, no-one was allowed around hotel or grounds after 1am when bar closed, drinks were rubbish, food was okish. I enlikened it to a war camp. It was painful.

OK I said I wouldn't go on so I won't .

Just be vvvvvv careful.

We tried and failed, and took hours.
Decided we didn't want to go to the arse end of nowhere on what looked like a man-made beach.

We're off to Torquay instead...

Do you HAVE to go abroad? It's been so hot in SE England for the last two or three months we're not going any further than Devon this year. Sooo much easier and less stressful to chuck everything in the boot & we have a lovely thatched cottage lined up.

we went to south of france last year, portugal this year, and cornwall in Sept with their top deals

monty you didn't go to callas de mallorca did you....? we had a similar nightmare last year. shudder.
