Gites/villa/self contained apartments in south spain or balearics

Hi, we had a holiday in gites in France this year which was great as there were 4 individual units, and the beauty of this was being able to do your own thing bu not have to clear up others mess as well as sometimes sit out and be sociable! I'd really like to holiday in Spain or Majorca next year though, and have seen some great villas, but would rather go for individual units all set together round a pool.
Any ideas what to search for on Google? Anyone know what I'm going on about?!!

We rented a villa in the Costa Blanca a couple of years ago. We had 3 bedrooms plus our own pool a few miles inland from the coast. It was really good accomodation but found that there was little to go and see as I dont do beaches and we like ancient castles. The children enjoyed themselves but all in all we decided to go back to campsites (the price is similar).

We would probably have been better heading further south to Andalucia.

this website is vast and hard to narrow down but the choice/prices seem good and I found it from recommendations from other MNers when I trawled the archives.

Try owners direct - in their advanced search criteria, they have an option to search for grouped properties which will give you exactly what you're looking for. Good luck

We have just got back from here Lots of choices - loads of castles and monastries etc plus mountain walks, beaches, or just chilling round the pool. Weather was amazing (36 degrees every day except the last)
