where to go/availability next week

Wonder if anyone can help - we have from weds 28th July to mon 2nd aug inclusive off work and would like to go away for a short break. most self catering cottages are for weeks only in summer hols - anyone know of anywhere that does short breaks - looking ideally in brixham/south devon area or norfolk/suffolk area.

Ok probably no good at all as totally the wrong area but have you looked at the Cotswold Water Park (near Cirencester?) Some lovely properties there and I think the self catering apartments do short breaks even in the summer?

Have a look at De Vere hotels. They do good, lower rates for leisure customers and most of the hotels are fab. We've had a few short breaks with them.

Try searching for last minute availability on various independent cottage rental sites (Holiday Rentals, Independent Cottages, Owners Direct etc) then contact the cottage owners direct and see if they will do a deal.

I often take last minute bookings on a bums on seat basis (not usually during the summer) but you never know until you try.

many thanks for all of the replies - managed to find a cottage nr totnes on 'devon online'. there were also several caravans available in Babbacombe (we're not fussy last minute!!).
now ....anyone know of anywhere in southwold end of august!!? have tried owners direct/holidaylettings and nothing doing in budget (up to £400 for five nights)
