Play Days - Basingstoke

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right forum but wanted to just say how disappointed I was with this place today.

The main gripe I have is that I took two children in and a 15 month old baby who was unwell and fast asleep. Their policy is to charge for all babies after 1 year, so they wanted to charge £4. I thought this was ridiculous as she was fast asleep. I offered to sit right by their desk so they could check on me and if she woke up I would obviously have paid (although she wouldn't have been in the mood anyhow as she was under the weather with new teeth coming through. They totally refused. I could not bring myself to pay £4 just to park the pram.

Fortuately, my husband was with me so he ended up walking around outside with her for two hours (and she did not wake up as I expected). I can understand charging but surely they can use some discretion - especially when the place is empty and you can see if I am going to run off and give her a free play. And they were just so rude - explaining that if she is on the premises she pays. Full stop.

Also, it was boiling hot - yes, it was a hot day, but this place is stifling!!! Both my children came out drenched in sweat. The toilets also left a lot to be desired and there was no soap.

So.....that's it. Gripe over. But I sure won't be going back there.

Hey,

I must say that once in there I was undercharged when I said my son was 13 months. Got charged as under one. I guess it depends who you get that day. Provided most of them are hardly over 16, what can you expect?

I do think though that it is one of the newer/cleaner ones in Basingstoke at the moment
