Paris - somewhere to stay for family of 5?

It dh's 40th next week and I'm trying to plan a surprise family trip to Paris over the Oct mid term. It will be our wedding aniversary when we are there and we spent our honeymoon in Paris, so I would really love to do it, but I am having difficulty finding somewhere to stay.

Ideally I'd like the 5th or 6th as I know the area fairly well. I'm looking for a hotel with interconnecting rooms or an apartment to rent. I have found a few apartments for around 1300 Euro, but that is really pushing my budget. I have tried Citidines apartments but as there are 5 of us we need 2 apartments!

I'd be so grateful for some suggestions, I finally found flights but I'm afraid to book them until I find somewhere to stay. It's all starting to stress me out!

I agree that apartments can be as expensive as hotels. Try one of the booking websites (like lastminute.com or booking.com) and put in 5 people but only 1 room and it should bring up junior suites which is probably what you need if you go for a hotel.

If you do a search in the archives I think appartments have been recommended before but from what I remember they were no cheaper than the ones you found...
