You know those airport lounges you pay for? Can you get actual meals there or just snacks?

HAs anyone used the 4Deck at Heathrow? I am flying longhaul this summer with a four year old and breastfed baby and wondering if its shelling out for a lounge. It would cost around 50 pounds for four of us, and would only really make sense if we could have lunch there before getting on the flight.

If it's like the normal business class lounge then you dont normally get proper meals normally just snacks and (crisps, biscuits etc) and drinks. Some also offer sandwiches. Do you need to get a meal, wont you get one on the plane?

What you do get is somewhere reasonably calm to sit which I would pay good money for.

No, just snacks and drinks (including alcoholic). you would need to go elsewhere in the terminal to eat.

Thank you. hhmm, may just shell out for a meal then 0 if we go to a nice restaurant it shouldn't be too crowded, should it?

The flights at 2.30, and I want to make sure we all eat before flying as I'm breastfeeding dd and get really hungry, ds will meltdown, and dh will just get grumpy with a late lunch. I'm also not convinced we are going to get a chance to eat on the plane with two little ones.

Virgin does meals in their lounge - its heavenly (sigh and remember days of childfree travel)

There's a Garfunkels in T4 after security and that place is family friendly. Service is also quick.

Lounges tend to serve snack type items like crisps and sandwiches. Sometimes they serve pasta.
