Switzerland, which would be best with 4 year old.

Ok so have decided to first go to Berlin by train then would like to go on to Switzerland.

We are trying to choose places which have something to do for ds who is nearly 4, and we are using public transport.

Any recommendations please?

Depends what you mean by "something to do" . Few resorts would organise activities for a 3yr old but most offer mountains lifts/railways where there are usually restaurants with playground, petting zoo or animals such as marmots to feed, summer toboggan runs (think luge ie. shallow sled in a metal track!). Some would still have ice palaces and snow at the summit. Personal faves are the Bernese Oberland (Wengen/Grindelwald) and Saas Fee but you could also stop off at a lakeside resort on the way and many of the cities have trams.

You might find this site useful. Not sure when you are going but the season is quieter from 3rd week of August as schools will be going back.

LIZS thanks, that looks like a great website. We are probably looking to visit places that have something to entertain ds.

If he is entertained then we know we are in for a more relaxing holiday.

If you're heading to Bernese Oberland or going to be near Interlaken, Ballenberg is great fun for a day out. I took my DC when they were 4 & 6 and recently visited again (DC now 16 and 18)

Plenty of animals to see etc, but there is a lot of walking.
