Aug holiday, shall I book now or last minute?

A 2 week August package holiday in Greece for a family of 4 is approx £2000 at the moment, basic SC accomodation with pool.

Is that a good price? Or if I hold on till last minute will we get a better deal?

Prices do seem quite cheap at the moment, but it's been so long since we've been abroad I have nothing to compare it to.

Any advice would be appreciated.

We booked our holiday earlier this year, 1 week in Greece followed by 2 weeks in Turkey and it cost £1,600 but we booked private apartments and flights separately. £2,000 seems a bit expenisve to me but then again I think the days of last minute dead cheap holidays are gone now and packages are always more expensive than DIY holidays. If you have found something you like maybe it is better to book now or you may not find anything nearer the time and it is the busiest time of the year.

Thanks Nefret, might look at the diy option, although it could get complicated. I'm not really used to packages so diy might be a good way of avoiding the crowds too!

CarrotGirl - I'm doing the same, but one week all inclusive. The prices have been slowly going up over the last month. We can't book yet as we won't have the money until next week, so it's very annoying to see prices going up not down.

Thanks, so I think the general consensus is that prices are going up. Also, with two small children we will be fussy re. flight times, walking distances etc, so sooner rather than later looks best.

To me booking an August holiday in July is already leaving it very last minute. If you want any choice at all don't delay.
