Menorca for 2 yo - Cala Galdana, Son Bou or Arenal d'en Castell...

Or anywhere else quieter than Calan Forcat (MIL was there and said there is no beach and it's really, really busy but good for kids age 4 and over)

Anyway, we have been looking at Cala Galdana since it is quieter and has nice beach as well as picturesque, Son Bou as it seems a larger resort but still quieter with a nice beach and Arenal d'en Castell which we have been told is usually booked up well in advance but we would still like an opinion on it too - is it maybe too quiet?

This is our 1st beach holiday with LO. We have never been to Menorca and this is our 1st LO so have no idea what we should be looking for apart from ideally short flight time and not too hot.

TIA

We have done Cala Galdana a couple of times. the first time with a toddler (age 2) and then again with dd when she was just 4.

Found it to be a great place for them. The beach is great and the seas is very shallow for a long way out meaning they can mess around in the edge without you worrying so much.

There is also a restaurant near the beach that has loads of little rides and a play area for small children. And the food isn't bad either.

In the evening there is always a childrens mini disco in village square - which the children love. You can sit and have a drink whilst watching all the children join in.

Cala Galdana is quite small and a few of the apartments ie the Annabel are up a steepish hill (though our dd did it with no problems). A lot of the restaurants also have play areas next to them for the children. Mind you check the prices at the restaurants as when we went some of them could be a bit pricey for what you got.

The children all love the train ride around the village and up the hill - can be a bit pricey if you have a child like mine who adored it. But great for a bit of "you" time when you wave them off on it with their dad

Easy to get a busy to Mahon and Citaduella if you want a change or not too expensive to hire a car to get out and see more of the island which we did.

Can also vouch for the excellent doctor service there thanks to dd!

We did visit the other resorts but were more than happy with Cala Galdana for little ones.

Another vote for Cala Galdana - we went there with dd when she was about 2 and she loved it. Agree with Sushi about the beach and the mini disco, also restaurants very child-friendly.

I loved our first holiday with dd - her wonderment at the sand and the sea was a joy to behold!
