Applying for universities in the USA

Hello,
Does anyone have experience of applying successfully to the Ivy league universities?

My DS is interested in applying.He would be a first generation student and we would need financial aid.

It would be great to hear from.anyone with experience.

Incredibly helpful @poetryandwine - thank you for taking the time to research!

We're going for DIY route with practice papers galore. As DS is doing Maths A Level that sets him up well. He's not going to do the essay option. Not tutoring as it looks extortionate and friends who've been through the process recently suggest it is of limited value.

We think he needs to get in the region of 1500 to stay in the process as an athlete recruit.
