I got a frantic text to search the house for a missing portfolio of his artwork. My son was attending a class and the new tutor took the group to another room to see something. Tutor said they'd not be gone long so he piled his stuff up under a chair.
I am not sure whether he was aware on return that it was missing or whether he later realised that was where he last had it but he is gutted and frantic. It forms part of his 1st year assessment for getting back in next year. Apparantly, when he went back to that tutor all they kept saying was "I didnt take it". ?? Strange and unhelpful.
All his work has to be ready for presenting by 19th May (today) so he is cramming to get other stuff finished off too and so didnt want me to be asking him all kinds of questions. He's been at his friends and probably been studying all through the night.
My question is - what are his options now? Who can he go to to report it missing/stolen. He has put up a reward on the Noticeboard and wonders if he should go to the police. He wants to know if he will be able to look at cctv as there is only one way out of the building and hopes to see someone carrying his large black folder.
A piece of work was taken before. The whole group had work put up and on display on the walls in a room and his was the only one taken. His work is amazing and he has been asked to sell to one tutor.
His Uni is in England.
