hi,
im currently studing for my post grad cert and need to do a reflective essay. I am wondering which cycle to follow, i used gibbs for my degree but am sure one of the tutors said at the beginning of this course its not ideal for pgc and would use a different type. i was thinking of kolbs but not sure.
any one else had to use a reflective cycle for m level study?

Can't go wrong with Kolb. You could try doing the test on the Peter Honey website as a starting point too (Honey and Mumford use Kolb's categories to label people's preferred learning style based on a multiple choice questionnaire). I found it v useful when doing a similar essay as it provided instant structure for talking about different aspects of my learning and I was interested in how I was categorised. (It's all me me me!) It does cost money though- about £10-15 irrc. You might be able to get a free version or something similar by googling. Good luck!
