This MUST be one of the most un-user friendly websites ever created by the government.

Every time you try & contact these people by Web or Phone they insist one of your passwords is wrong (happening to all our friends as well).

DD has an email to say "More evidence needed" and to log on for details. When she finally found the correct page it said "We are not expecting any more evidence". Do DH & I both logged on as ourselves to find all our previous "evidence expected" had been deleted!

Finally got through on the phone. They only want to talk to DD about MY evidence that I have posted! Then they admit they have found ONE piece of evidence from a whol pile we sent together - but it gets split up & sent around various depts.

Nothing we can do but wait - probably to be told we won't qualify for anything even though DH was on JSA for months and we don't really have a clue what he wille arn this year.

ANuyone had more luck?

They're utterly useless.

I sent off some evidence, they sent it back with a covering later, then a week later asked for the same evidence again.

They had claimed that it would be a six week turn around this year but are already admitting that they're quite behind.

Quite concerning.

DS gave up completely doing it online in the end as it kept saying his password was wrong - he tried to change it online & it didn't work, so he rang up & they said they'd send him a new one - by the time it arrived the online change had gone through (unknown to us) so the new one we got by post didn't work....we have now done it all by snail mail for the past 2 years.

You have just reminded me that I need to give DD a kick to get her reapplication for her 2nd year going. Wonder if she remembers her password?

I emailed myself all the screenshots of Passwords/Customer Numbers etc which helps - but the site is SO cumbersome.

Does anyone know when the deadline for next year's application is? DS1 is driving me insane (will be in 3rd year but abroad) by NOT DOING IT YET!!!! Is now going to be compounded by the fact that the website is crap......aaaaargh.

The deadline has passed ,it was last Friday. Butthe deadline is only so that they garentee that you get the money by the start of the acadamic year. In actual fact you will still get the money and you can still apply. DD1 applied late for her sone year and she still got the money in time.

I've had mine sorted, signed for and confirmed for about a month and a half now [smug]

They are bad the first year. When it comes to renewing unless your income changes a lot, they don't really care. They didn't ask my parents for any evidence this year. Its such a stupid system, I haven't lived with my parents in 3 years and yet their income still affects mine.
