Please does anyone know the date we need to apply for student finance for. Course starts September 2026

Easily googled. The deadline has passed for guaranteed finance before course starts I think.

Yes the deadline for guaranteed ££ was in May IIRC so just do it asap. Like today?

I did Google but hoped it was wrong. We did it finally last night so I'm now panicking a bit. I assumed that we had plenty of time. I should have checked earlier. Hopefully it will be okay but I am worried now

Obviously not ideal but I suspect your dc will not be the only one that applied late so I would not worry too much. Just be ready to support with initial living costs if needed. I am sure accommodation etc will wait if the application has been put in.

DS applied in the Sept he was going and it came through in time. He was going to take a year out and deferred his place but had a change of plan.

which give information about applications and when they are processed.

For future reference, if you use the SFE website as your source of info this will not be "wrong".

(I'm assuming you are in England, replace your own nation website if appropriate).

My foster son didn't apply until Jule last year but finance in place for September.
