Hi everyone, here's the new thread!

OP posts:
Peanuts79 · 19/02/2026 12:54

Congratulations @everydirection and @Itsallstressstressstress - such a relief to have an offer and incredible to have a choice!

@Katyapup huge congratulations on the offer, I can't imagine the anxiety waiting to hear from the final choice.

DD has been away this week with school so a break from emails/ UCAS until boarded the flight home a couple of hours ago when she checked - reserve list from Brighton. Not unexpected given her feedback after the interview, she was very adamant (repeatedly) that she would not get an offer from them.

Those still waiting to hear from anywhere, I hope an offer comes through soon, and another, and another....

inae · 19/02/2026 13:32

Sorry to hear about Brighton @Peanuts79 good that she has the Exeter one.

@Katyapup welcome to the thread and congrats! must've been a huge relief.

Speaking of Exeter, they have sent their waitlist guidance and updated UCAS to rejected today. They're asking those on the waitlist to fill out their student agreement and the occupational health questionnaire "just in case". Then there are instructions on what to do on results day (to call them), if you don't hear from then by then...

There's also a paragraph at the end that says something like 'if you hold a firm offer elsewhere please be aware of the UCAS guidance on overturning/influencing decisions'... but still to call them if you wanted a place.

Oh well.

womblemum · 19/02/2026 15:23

My DD got an Exeter offer last month but she has not spotted any student agreement or occupational health questionnaire. Are others yet to receive these or should she chase?

Good luck to all waiting for offers.

I think that's what happened to the person we know - they are there now, second year!

@peanuts79 & @inae thank you for the welcome...it was a huge relief to get the offer, like has been said, we only need one! Head fully down now for mocks after half term!

Well done to everyone who has been receiving offers 😊

Fingers crossed you’ll hear soon.

PurryGrowls · 19/02/2026 22:35

Congrats @Katyapup (so stressful having just one interview, so great result!) and @everydirection My daughter got a UEA offer today too - so pleased for her!

Sorry to hear about that rejection @Peanuts79 Hopefully your daughter is ok with it, and happy with the offer she has.

Someone posted on Reddit an email screenshot from Sheffield - saying all decisions will be made by 'early March at the latest'. Fingers crossed for all of our YPs who are waiting! 🤞

Hyms offer early evening yesterday

Yay well done! Lovely start to the weekend, which others are you waiting on now?

GrinsteadGrinch · 21/02/2026 13:52

Have been quietly stalking this thread. Non of DD’s friends have applied for medicine so this has been a lifeline on what would otherwise have been a very lonely journey. Am eternally grateful to my fellow mumsnetters, though this process has tuned me into more of a ‘mumsnutter’! Special thanks to@mumsneedwine for her wise words and of course the spreadsheet!!
St George’s offer arrived yesterday and I have heard of others from SGUL, for those who are also waiting.

Good luck everyone, we’re nearly there.

mumsneedwine · 21/02/2026 14:32

🥂🥂 that 'just one offer' feels so good ! Hang on in there if still waiting. Many more still to come.

Hyms offer early evening yesterday

that's lovely news. Love seeing all these offers come in. Congratulations. We are waiting for Imperial and Southampton but think they are among the slower ones. Takes so much pressure off having an offer though, Loving seeing all the success on here. It is all a lot more stressful and brutal than I thought it would be

mumsneedwine · 21/02/2026 15:01

@everydirection it sets them up well for the joys of post grad training !

I wish I'd found it sooner! Well done on the offer! 👏🏻

well done on getting a St George's offer! We are still waiting... did your child get a Band 1? My son's score was 2240B2.

GrinsteadGrinch · 21/02/2026 21:09

@Katyapup Such a lovely community, wish I had joined sooner!

@MyGreyBiscuit Yes, band 1. The wait has been agonizing. Waiting to hear from Sheffield but DD thinks it was her worst interview 🫣

MyGreyBiscuit · 22/02/2026 12:17

Hi @GrinsteadGrinch - we're also waiting for Sheffield...and Barts, and Southampton. Just waiting....

OP posts:
PurryGrowls · 23/02/2026 07:34

Fingers crossed for good news soon @MyGreyBiscuit and anyone else waiting. My daughter’s UEA offer came 2 weeks after their offers started trickling out… It’s really unsettling when you don’t know what the rationale is, but presumably there is method in the madness! 😳 Hang tight!

bluefineliner · 23/02/2026 07:54

Yes fingers crossed for more offers this week, especially @MyGreyBiscuit DS!

DDs OHD at Leeds this coming Saturday is distracting a little but she is now fixating on hearing from Newcastle sooner than the others. This is only because it was her favourite and she's so keen to know the outcome. I mean we don't want time to go too quickly as A level prep needs to be done but also would like to fast forward to end of March to get the waiting for offers over.

MyGreyBiscuit · 23/02/2026 08:45

Thanks @PurryGrowls and @bluefineliner ! Yes, the rationale thing is the bit I'm missing but hey ho. This week he's focused on his mocks! He's been spending most days in the local uni library!! Have a lovely week everyone!
