Hi all,

Has anyone put their child's maths A level maths paper in for a re-mark and gained extra marks? I've heard it's more common for essay based subjects to change upwards in a re-mark compared to maths, what have your experiences with a maths re-mark been?

My dc had a remark for Maths and the grade stayed the same even though he gained some marks in paper 1 but lost them in the other papers. I would strongly advise you to get each paper reviewed by a teacher first to see which papers are worth remarking and have them remarked one by one. Had my dc only had one paper remarked he would have gone up to an A grade. Very frustrating that we did not get the right advice from his school.
He went up 2 marks in Biology remark to get an A. I don’t have much confidence in the marking system.
