Lancaster insurance accomodation

Hi, ds is due to start Lancaster which was his insurance uni.

We haven't heard anything about accomodation and i'm a little concerned as I don't want him to either miss out or if there is some choice, have that choice limited.

Has anyone whose yp is going to Lancaster as their insurance heard anything please?

Ds is the same. He applied for accomodation about 3 or 4 weeks before results, just in case, and had an email confirming that he'd applied, saying that a £200 deposit would be needed when he was allocated. Nothing since, so I'm suggesting that he checks the portal tonight and phones to enquire tomorrow. He's not particulatly worried as they guarantee accomodation for insurance places, but he wants the cheaper options and doesn't want to be stuck with something that he can't really afford.

If you are on Facebook there is a group called "Lancaster University Parents Group" which is full of very helpful posters and lots of new people who have just joined coming through insurance and clearing.

Also there is a recent reel on Lancaster Uni's accommodation instagram

@luaccommodation_

which says everything is in hand, and you will hear soon.

Has your ds heard anything yet @Perzival? Mine phoned earlier in the week and was told that all was in hand and to sit tight. Which is fine, but ds could really do with knowing how much he'll be paying, so that he can start to get a budget together 🤔

Glad to hear that he's got something. All sorted at this end today too, he's in Pendle 😃

Great stuff!

I've just emailed to ask about mattress sizes. 90x210 seems difficult to find.

Ds has also been allocated a room with a longer bed. He'd applied for a normal one but he's pleased, being on the taller side (6'). I've found a fitted sheet on Amazon, listed under 'student bed' by a brand called 'In Dreams', but isn't included in Prime delivery.

Thank you, much appreciated 😘
