SFE help

Hi all. My son is starting uni in September, staying at home as its a local university.

We have done his sfe application and when i filled my part in it connected to hmrc for my 23/24 income. It said if this was higher than my current income to contact them, it didnt mention if it were lower.

23/24 i was a student myself until the September, then i worked Oct-April so my income for that year is much lower than my 24/25 amount.

Do we need to call them, or is it being calculated off 23/24 correct?

Thanks

It’s fine but you should be aware that he’ll receive a lot less in his second year, as that’ll be assessed off 2425. So plan accordingly

Yeah i assumed as much. Hopefully by second year he will have secured a pt job, hes applied for so many but not managed to get one yet.

Thanks for the reply. I assumed it was correct but had that niggly feeling of doubt and worried he would end up owing them for an overpayment
