Hi all, looking for a student moving service to move my daughters stuff from Bristol to York - just the usual student stuff for a room so no large furniture of bulky items - have done a google search but nothing jumping out so just wondered if anyone had any personal recommendations please . TIA

Try “Anyvan” for a search/quote on small removals. There wouldn’t be anything specific as they all move on the same day so a limited market!

Her mates and a van hire?

It might be worth looking on Facebook and posting on local community pages and asking.

The other options is that your daughter takes what she can on the train and just buys a load of stuff to be delivered to her halls.

Hiring a van with a driver will cost hundreds.

Thanks for replies - this is actually her second year and it’s for moving into a house rather than halls - this issue is our son is potentially starting at the same uni and whilst we were able to move her in ourselves we would need to hire a van to take the 2 of them and take a car as most vans only seat 4 people so we are figuring it may be cheaper to ship hers and take his ourselves. It’s a long way to do 2 separate trips !

We are taking 2 kids from Bristol to York to start in Sept. My DH is driving and will hire a van to go with both kids and all their stuff. (I'm not making the trip, for various reasons.)

Logistically and expense wise, I think this is the best option.

How many of you are going to York?
Could the extra passengers go by train and meet up in York?

Just one person drives the van and the others go by train and meet there?

@MaggiethecatThanks - had looked at their website but good to have a personal recommendation and given it is just small stuff I think this will work out the most economical.

We were very grateful for this option.
Hope it works well for you!
