TMUA website down?

Anyone’s child trying to sign up for TMUA. Website is down for us and unable to register for a test. Arrrggghh

Try again now, the website was down for some maintenance and it seems to be working again (albeit slowly). My DS has just booked his TMUA - all time slots for our local test centre still available.

Total nightmare trying to book all afternoon. Not impressed.

bettyjane · 31/07/2025 18:15

She’s managed to get “test confirmed” but when she tries to load dates it was saying candidate not registered, and now saying too many redirects.
tried the phone helpline twice, useless and no support. Trying online support and no response yet.

DS got the same message - candidate not registered but kept trying / refreshing and then it suddenly worked. It then allows you to choose a test centre and time (that appears to be on a different website) - once you get to that part it all works easily and without any glitches and is relatively straightforward. Absolute nightmare.

Thank you, she’s now stuck with it saying she’s confirmed as a candidate but won’t let her book dates. Arrrggghh

My Dh just managed to book (we were all taking turns) and it looked like there were only 2 slots lefts near us so that was stressful but it's done now. We had various online chats with the site admin when it all went to shit and they were terrible, trotting out unhelpful customer service scripts until they finally acknowledged the problem and put up the message about maintenance (aka fixing the problem - hardly gonna plan maintenance for the big booking day!).

It's one of those stupid systems where the company administering the booking isn't the same as the ones delivering the tests and it's all a big cock-up when one site isn't working and directs you to the other's customer service. Modern life sucks!! Good luck to everyone still trying to book. It's not even like it's for a fun thing like concert tickets, but hopefully it'll be smoother on the day...

Hers is now just letting her click to pick a date and then going to an error page (too many page redirects)

they’ve told her to call back in 24 hours. Worried they’ll be no slots left by then

@bettyjane we're having exactly the same problem and error message.

I am thinking that as so many people can't get onto the website that lots of slots will still be free. It is certainly a shambles!

The too many page redirects message? So sorry you’re still having issues too. Let me know if you find a way to sort it x

@bettyjane yes - once you're directed to the other website to schedule a test.

I've tried clearing cookies and cache and tried it from other phones and computer. Same message. I'll have to try first thing in the morning.

I hope you get through eventually and I'll let you know if I have any success.

bettyjane · 31/07/2025 22:18

We’ve tried all the same things. So frustrating. Good luck, will let you know if we get success too. Hoping it’ll magically resolve by morning x

Any luck this morning AuntyBulgaria?

OP posts:

No luck here. I can see that some people are successfully booking but the error seems to be linked to the username. I am waiting for contact from Pearson now.

bettyjane · 01/08/2025 10:10

Just horrible extra stress on something which is already stressful for them. So frustrating.

@bettyjane I have spoken to the call centre and they says it's a global issue and it's affecting them as well! And to call back in a couple of hours!

I'm not sure how some people are managing to schedule tests if it's a global issue - but it's impossible for us at the moment.

bettyjane · 01/08/2025 11:15

Same- they said they’d found a test and transferred us to payment line (to much celebration from us!) and then payment failed and they said they aren’t able to schedule any. But have told us to call back in 24 hours!
she’s considering withdrawing the registration and seeing if it will let her re-register.. but feels risky!

@bettyjane definitely try withdrawing and reapplying - I just did (thanks for the suggestion). And it worked. Test booked at a test centre quite far away, but manageable.
Try it and let me know if it works. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Ohhhh my gosh, it worked for us too! Thank you for being brave and going for it- my Dd was too scared even though I was suggesting it might be the only option !

AuntyBulgaria · 01/08/2025 11:42

I am annoyed as I should have done that yesterday and I would have got a better test centre and none of this stress!

bettyjane · 01/08/2025 11:56

Same; I suggested it last night to my daughter but she was too nervous. Wish I’d mentioned here then!
I did ask about it on the phone but they didn’t know what I meant and couldn’t advise..

Really pleased to hear you've got the tests booked!

bettyjane · 01/08/2025 17:32

Thanks you! I will be looking out for posts from you all about test and results stresses, and uni applications later in the year!
