I have just finished my first year at Westminster doing English Language and literature. I have been having second thoughts if this is the right degree for me as I am looking into civil service jobs, police, courts etc. I have just made a new application through UCAS for criminology with law at South Bank University and University of Herdfordshire.Anyone else with the same experience?

I changed my degree after the first year. I started off trying to be a primary school teacher, soon realised it was not for me, and so went on to do a theology degree and then trained to be a secondary teacher (much easier!). Speak to your university and see what they say. I was able to swap subjects and go straight into the second year without having to repeat. HTH and good luck, changing my course after the first year was the best decision I made.
