Deferred entry UCAS deadline question

DD has applied to universities for deferred entry for 2026. The deadline is today and she is panicking that she may want to change course and therefore wants to withdraw her application for this year. Are there any negative implications in doing this? Does it mean that she needs to go through the whole UCAS application process again next year and if so, would her current 6th Form College be obligated to give her a tutor reference if she is no longer there?

She can withdraw at any point and very unlikely it will have any repercussions for future offers. She just reapplies after September for 2026 and needs to speak to school/college about the reference. Alternatively she can wait until results day before cancelling.

There is no deadline today. Deadline for selecting her firm and insurance is 5 June.

Looking at the deadlines, it was confusing as it mentions deadline for 2026 entries received before 31 March was 6 May. I now see it is 2026 yet thought the entries mentioned above were for 3025 entry year.

However if you have applied in this cycle your deadline will be the deadlines for this cycle even if you applied for a deferred 2026 entry.
