Bath accommodation 2nd and 3rd year

DC has a Bath Uni offer. Can anyone please tell me how tricky it is to get accommodation in years 2 and 3 and roughly how much current / nxt year's prices are?

Also, I have read about the fact that many students end up in city rather than campus halls in year 1. Does this work out OK for most or do they feel isolated?

DD in city halls, initial disappointment and an expensive bus pass but overall happy. She submitted in time, didn't go through clearing, Bath was first choice and no city accommodation was on her nine choices and still she ended up in the city.

Securing second year accommodation (she is still a fresher) was a bit of a bun fight and they saw four properties before being able to secure one, that was before Christmas when they are still finding friends etc. It looks ok and costs about £8k for the year.

Most first years still end up on campus.
Dd also secured accommodation for sec year before Xmas. Yes they went to look at various places, maybe 3 or 4, but they themselves rejected the various houses (too far, too expensive etc) All liked their final choice.
£8700 for the year.

Don't worry about the possibility of not being on campus, it didn't bother DD at all in fact she says she prefers it as it's a bit of a seperation from uni life and home and also much easier for food shopping and nights out, apparently!

DS got campus choice quite easily. Bit of a scramble for second year but nothing compared to friends in other university cities. Standard of accommodation in city good. Price of halls are published on Bath’s accommodation website

Dd is now in her final year at Bath. She got second choice campus accommodation in first year. She had no problems at all finding private accommodation and this year is house sharing with 3 strangers and left it late in the day to find. Her house mates this year have been a post grad student and another final year lad. She pays circa £7500 per annum plus bills. She loves the place and hopes to stay in the area for work now.
