Applying for accommodation for a deferred place (2026)?

DC has had 4/5 unis respond with conditional offers for 2026 entry so far.

When are they supposed to apply for 2026 uni accommodation? Is it once they've picked a firm and conditional choice? Or is it after results or later?

Once they’ve confirmed a place usually. But the university chosen as Firm will often be in touch beforehand.

However, if you think logically: a university can’t offer accommodation until they know that all those applicants offered and accepted conditional offers have actually made their offer and secured a place. Then the accommodation can be settled.

It varies but usually the spring before entry. Some will open applications in February, others May/June. Some won't release allocations until after A level results day.
