Anyone have experience of an interview for a behind the scenes degree? Would appreciate any advice. Thanks

Not specifically but my top tip would be go and see one of their shows - some are on now as end of term. Then your student can show they have knowledge of the standard required

No direct experience of Bruford, but generally - be realistic about a career in the industry. Be aware of the long hours and the need to support productions as part of a team. Be prepared to travel and relocate. Talk about awareness and knowledge of how tech craft skills support the artists. And talk about any experience of working backstage. Preferably beyond school shows - amdram for example. If there’s no experience- get some!

I got rejected from Rose Bruford as I was useless at pretending to be an inanimate object during the audition process. The student who was mentoring us pretended to be a toilet and I wish I was joking.

I’m sure things have changed for the better.
