Confused about UCAS points

I have already posted about this, but didn’t get a reply that answered my question so have posted in this section. This might sound like a silly question, but can you carry over UCAS points?

If someone has 95 from last year and need 120 points, do they need to start again or can they use the points from last year and do an additional course to take their points to 120?

The points themselves are cumulative. You'd need to check the individual admissions requirements though to check if they will accept qualifications that aren't taken together or are resits.

I think the answer is that they just need an additional course. Although individual universities may set their own rules (some may want everything in one sitting) and it's quite unusual for a university to ask for UCAS points and not specific grades for specific qualifications!
