Hi, am after some advice.

My DC is starting uni in Sept. Offer accepted etc.

Student Loan company website saying his Loan application has been accepted but we've not had any further details beyond that. Had anyone else heard anything?

I haven't been through this process before so not sure what to expect!

Thanks

If you have an email and letter saying it has been accepted then that's it. You can log into DC's SFE account and confirm that everything looks OK.
The tuition fees get paid directly to the uni, and the maintenance loan gets paid at start of each term into DC's bank account.

Sorry to hijack your thread - but my DSS applied for a student loan but is now taking a gap year. he has deferred his uni place - does he need to defer his loan with SLC as well? And if so, how?

@rbe78 cancel SF and reapply next year.

@MangoMadness999 get your DC to log into their account. They should be able to see exactly what they have been given, and the dates it will be paid. If it doesn't look right, or isn't there, contact student finance.

@rbe78 DSS should contact student finance to explain. No money is paid until the student registers at uni, and the uni informs SF that this has happened. But he needs to leave things in such a way that means it's easy to set things in motion again next year when he reapplies.

Thanks all. DC can log on and see that the application has been approved, but there's no further details and I've not had any communication from them.

I'll call after the bank holiday weekend.
