A Level Geography NEA marks

Quick question:

How common is it to achieve full marks in the Geography NEA. How many of you have children who have achieved full marks.

In this case full-marks is 60/60.

I've just asked my daughter who is taking Geography. She's at a big 6th form college and says there are two people she knows of who got 59. She got 53 and was delighted with that.

Thank you @FloellaDaVille

DD was having a slight meltdown about revision today so her teacher has whispered her mark to her, ahead of everyone else getting them tomorrow. If DD heard correctly, she's received 60/60! Just trying to work out if that is even possible but perhaps it is. Time will tell tomorrow when they get their marks in class and it isn't just a whispered comment which she might have misheard (DD is a complete worry-wart!)

53 is a fantastic mark and DD would have been delighted with that so big congratulations to your daughter. DD's teachers seemed to think that would be an A* mark.

My ds got 59 along with one other. He put a lot of work in to get this. There was one 60 in the year.
So I would expect one per school, if lots of A star predicted grade pupils. Same with his History NEA.

I've given a couple of full marks this year. You have to be really sure you can justify the marks because the moderators will want to see the top scores and your whole sample can be marked down if you aren't sure. So full marks is possible and she must've worked very hard on it.

@WonderingWanda Thank you. I can confirm she absolutely worked her socks off doing it. I proof-read it for her just before she submitted it and was very, very impressed.

Quite possibly. DD's exam board is AQA.

Ah, his is Edexcel.

That explains it!

63/70 is an excellent mark. I hope he's pleased.

Absolutely! He slogged his guts out for it and half expected a shitty unjustified mark so he's hugely relieved. I was surprised how much work goes in to it so thankfully only had one to do, some of his peers had one for each subject!
