Student finance issue

Any advice.

My husband and I have been unofficially separated for about 18 months and he is living with his cousin. Hoping to get back together but all a bit difficult at the moment.

DD1 applies for 2nd year of student finance and says on form that she lives only with me - true.

DD2 applies for 1st year of student finance and follows suit.

I have an email today asking me to complete a marital status form which I have to POST to student finance. I cannot give any evidence that we are not together as there is none.

I have completed the form as best I can and have said that we are living apart etc etc.

I am guessing that / hoping that in worst case scenario, once they receive this that they will ask the girls to start the process again to include husband's info??

Getting stressed that it is all going to take so much time and could have somehow been avoided.

Thank you for reading - any info/advice very gratefully appreciated.

Your exam needs to prove he is living elsewhere - electoral role, council tax, utility bill, changed registered GP etc.

Otherwise it looks as if you are trying to defraud the SLC into awarding higher loans. And making your dc pay over the next 40 years.

Thanks - yes, it looks dodgy, doesn't it.

I have called them and said I was happy to start again but they have told me to write a supporting statement. And then add to application 🤞🏼
