Student Finance application

Completed the student finance application online yesterday morning. My DS received an email confirming the application had been received and stating that my DH and I had been sent emails asking us for supporting info. Neither of us have received an email and I'm not sure what I need to do to provide the information? Should I just wait and see if we've had an email by the end of the day? How quickly did other people receive emails?

Am keen to get everything sorted asap as DS's passport expires in September and I need to renew it in time for holiday in July. Had to give passport number on application so don't want to renew it yet as it won't be valid on the application.

If you went to uni then the email may well have been sent to your last known email address ie from when you graduated.

You need to find your student finance details and log in yourself and then link the account.

They can do it over the phone if necessary.

(I had to reset password and update all kinds of things)

Neither my DH or I went to Uni so don't have a student finance account. We had to give our email addresses in the application so they should have the right ones?

@sidsgranny it takes a bit of time and isn't instantaneous in my experience. Give it a couple of days before you start worrying :)

If he's applying for anything more than the minimum loan, both you and your husband need an account to provide your income details. That request comes to the email attached to your own accounts. I think I read there's been a bit of a glitch on the system with those emails going out this year.
(I didn't have a clue until DD did all this last year!)
I follow the SFE page on FB which is really helpful.

Check your junk folder, DDs ended up there
