Can DC do resit while on temporary withdrawal from uni

DD, year 3, temporarily withdrew from uni last month due to health reasons. She was able to sit and pass 2 out of 3 exams in January but was in hospital during the third so couldn't do it.

Can she resit it during the summer season, even though she is on temporary withdrawal? She is planning to return in January 2025. Any guidance gratefully received.

There should be information on the uni website. DC took a year out ("interruption")during which she was not allowed to attend any lectures and not sit any exams . But officially she was still a student.

You need to ask the university. No-one here knows the detail of their specific regulations. All good wishes for your daughter's recovery.

Possibly consider ending the interruption in July 2024. Resit missed paper in August 2024. If at that point she has passed all semester 1 modules, although she is effectively not on an interruption there will be no classes for her until Janyary. But seek advice on this re fees etc. Has the added bonus that if she were to fail the summer resit she may be eligible to retake the module September 2024to January 2025.

If she's temporarily withdrawn on health grounds, she will presumably have to through occupational health to determine whether she's fit to rejoin the course. You'd need to check on the timeline for this. She won't be able to sit exams if she isn't paying fees, so she'll need work out what the arrangements are for this.

At the uni where I work students can't study or sit exams while temporarily withdrawn. If she's not well enough to study, she shouldn't add the stress of resits to her recovery. She should focus on getting better and then sitting the exam when she's in the best place for it.
