St Andrews offer

Student I am advising just received an offer from St Andrews which came with this wording:

"This offer is subject to you obtaining AAA at A-Level including Mathematics and Physics. You must provide formal verification of the qualifications stated in your application within five working days of publication."

He is sitting his A levels at the end of this academic year, and on his UCAS form he listed his IGCSE and Brevet qualifications as already obtained. On the applicant portal he says he cannot find where to upload any "formal verification" - I will look with him later... - and he has been trying to reach St Andrews on the phone this morning to see which qualifications they are referring to.

My guess is that these "qualifications" are actually his A levels and that he cannot provide formal verification until he has obtained them... I know this is standard practice but the student is a bit anxious and worries he needs to upload IGCSEs and Brevet.

They are referring to the A levels

This will be his ‘A’ Level results. Which course is it for?
Well done him!

Thank you so much. Just as I suspected.

It's for Physics and Maths... he is chuffed to bits but still has the "big one" to hear from (I would say St Andrews is pretty big, but there you go...[

Congratulations to him, what a lovely offer to get before Christmas!

Congratulations. They'll tell him how to upload his certificates when he has his results and confirms he's going.

My daughter - who lives in Spain - has just recieved a conditional offer from the university of St Andrews, in which she is asked for a nine in a foreign language. The problem is that the foreign language she is studying is actually English. Would Spanish (what she calls language and literature) count? It[s not like she can take up another language...
