Hi everyone
Looking into various music colleges for my daughter.
We're on the edge of London. This keeps popping up but can't seem to find any student reviews as to what it's actually like.
Anyone been? Or know anyone who has been/is there?
DD is interested in music performance
Thx

Not heard of that one. Have they tried looking on The Student Room?

Nothing on there either.
Seems a bit odd.
Searching just sends me to their own pages or ofsted report.

I know several students who attended either the Norwich one or the London one and most got what they wanted from their courses. My own DD attended the London one her first year but it was the wrong course for her and the course they promised she could do when she enrolled was withdrawn. She ended up leaving and it was very damaging to her confidence. I honestly don't rate the pastoral support but maybe the issue was DD.

That's a shame.
What course did she want to do? And what was she enrolled on?

She was enrolled in music performance (which she ultimately got at another college) but would have liked songwriting.

We're going to go to the open day when it is advertised. I guess we go from there. My DD will do GCSE's this year so it's level 3 we are looking at. The local college do courses and I do wonder if this is better as they will be closer so need less commute. She's seen ACC on live and quite lies the look of it.
She has ADHD so worried about the additional burden of organisation if she has to travel. On the other hand she really needs to engage with whatever she does.

Yes, it was the level 3. Good luck to your DD.

Did your DD actually go to the college? I’d love to know what she thinks if she did.

My eldest dd did her level 3 in music production here and she came out of it very well. She went during covid time so half in person and half online, they were quite well organised. She did say that you had to be motivated to do well. The staff were really supportive and encouraging but it's not school so if you chose to do the bare minimum and not turn up, they won't nag or chase you up.
