Which unis have catered halls please? Proper catered where everyone regularly eats together? I know Oxbridge do and Nottingham but are there others? TIA

Most of Durham's colleges are fully catered.

Some in Bristol

gogohmm · 11/05/2023 14:31

Not sure any all eat together, it was over 2 hour window 30 years ago (and terrible quality too) what does your dc want? Remember even if you select one hall you can end up with another

universityhelp · 11/05/2023 14:36

Loughborough has some.

LIZS · 11/05/2023 14:40

York

TizerorFizz · 11/05/2023 14:41

@HecticHettie Wills Hall at Bristol. Churchill hall as well I think. You would need to opt for these.

KittyMcKitty · 11/05/2023 15:20

Most universities have ‘proper’ catered accommodation- Manchester, Birmingham, Durham, York etc etc

Stringbean70 · 11/05/2023 15:27

@KittyMcKitty no, they really don’t. Self-catered is the norm. No catering at Leicester. Only one small part-catered block at Cardiff. None at Liverpool. Only credit to use in various outlets at Bath, Lancaster etc (so not what the OP considers a catered hall)

Piggywaspushed · 11/05/2023 16:43

Birmingham has a meal plan. It is in a big communal space but not a catered hall.

Peppermaynt · 11/05/2023 16:44

Brighton uni

RampantIvy · 11/05/2023 22:44

Castle Leazes at Newcastle has a catered option.

Delphigirl · 11/05/2023 23:55

Exeter. Quite a few catered halls.

UsingChangeofName · 12/05/2023 00:11

Seems an odd criteria to choose a University on though.

CuteCillian · 12/05/2023 00:39

Royal Agricultural Uni

HecticHettie · 12/05/2023 00:53

A consideration, lovely, but not a definitive criterion (singular of criteria btw). Thanks for your unhelpful input @UsingChangeofName

Ignore @UsingChangeofName OP. Life is too short to engage with these people. Catering is a factor but, for sure, every reasonable person on here knows yiu will have other criteria too. You asked a reasonable question

TizerorFizz · 12/05/2023 07:48

@HecticHettie
I think some unis have meal cards which is not the same as eating together in a dining room. Very few truly have the dining experience you are looking for.

Cannot see any catered at Brighton.

Tree543 · 12/05/2023 08:23

Some at Exeter Loughborough, Nottingham, Southampton as well I think
Meal plan at Bath, Birmingham
