What’s it like? DS has an offer for MORSE which has a good reputation but the university itself seems a bit isolated. The offer day didn’t shed much light. Is there a good social scene?

My DS1 did maths there a few years ago and had lectures with MORSE students. First year was very sociable with everyone in first year living on campus. He was in a cheaper hall with big shared kitchens which helped him to find friends. He did have a couple of friends from his sixth form in the more expensive halls with kitchens of 4 who found the social side more difficult. He also joined a couple of societies including Real Ale!

Second year most move to Leamington which is 8 miles out but there is a good social scene there and a very regular bus service. DS1 moved to Coventry for cost reasons but spent quite a few weekends in Leamington staying over with friends after parties.

An advantage of Warwick is the extremely flexible options for modules. DS did some computing dept modules as part of his maths degree for instance.

Overall he loved it. They took the piss out of Coventry a bit and he didn’t stay in the area after graduation. He now lives in Manchester which is party central and actually a bit too lively in all honesty for him! 😂

Thanks for this. 8 miles is a bit of a commute in 2nd year. Leamington seemed a bit quaint. Coventry a lot ‘rougher’ probably more him but if no one lives there… He likes seeing bands and pubs and was wondering if it will feel a bit limiting on that front. Appreciate there is a bar on site though.

Parts of Leamington might be quaint but it has plenty of students bars and clubs and a thriving nightlife due to the students. Coventry isn’t quiet and Earlsdon especially is full of students but the clubs aren’t quite as ‘nice’ as in Leam.

My dd did maths hand stars. Her then bf did Morse. It's a fab uni. No complaints.

Should say maths and stats!

She lived on campus year 1 then within walking distance in coventry the other three years.

DD2 is first year so in halls on campus atm. She is very happy there. Quite quiet nightlife-wise, but then she's not really a party animal so doesn't mind that. Next year she'll be in a shared house in Cannon Park which is very close to the campus, and I gather a lot of them do that, or go a bit further out to Earlsdon (she didn't fancy the commute in from Leam, and said the rents were higher). Some of her friends are also staying on campus in second year - the uni seems to be quite well supplied with accommodation!
