Q about portfolio deadlines

It's getting to crunch time!
So is the application deadline and portfolio deadline the same thing? So say the application deadline is January 30. Does that mean they expect you to have applied earlier so they can request the portfolio for you to get it to them by that date ? Or do you just have the application in by January 30, they then request the portfolio and give you a separate deadline for that?
Do any of them ask for the written application and portfolio to be submitted together? It seems that's the case with Kingston?

Deadlines are normally separate from the UCAS deadlines - portfolio deadlines are often on the website, or some send you a deadline once you send in your UCAS. For example here are a Couple of deadlines (but pls double check):

GSA deadline is Feb 1st
ECA deadline is Feb 7th

Thanks, sorry not ucas deadline- this is foundation where you apply direct to the university in question.

I only know about Farnham as DD only applied for 2 foundation courses. They had a separate application & portfolio deadline. In fact I think they made an offer conditional on DD attending an offer holder day with her portfolio.
It's so frustrating that there's no consistency across art foundation years - each art school does it's own thing..... 😡

@Localher0 Degrees are the same! Portfolio requirements differ. So do submission dates. And how they are submitted. Some want “best of” on Flickr, some want to see portfolio at interviews etc

Kingston has portfolio deadline same as application. UAL I have no idea, but as it's much less prescriptive than Kingston and the application deadline is later so not an issue, the portfolio will be done.
Too bad the first unit sketchbook and final pieces plus art essay for A level are due the same day as the application!

@TizerorFizz yes that drives me mad too. Last year was insane with 7 different portfolios going in at different times plus A level coursework requirements.....
@mondaytosunday I'm going to PM you about our experience with Kingston....Good luck to your DD this week.
