When the personal statement is previewed it’s set out weirdly with the line numbers next to each line. Does anyone know whether this is the view the universities see or do they see it in normal formatting?

Ds is under on characters but tight on lines and doesn’t have four lines spare to add spaces between his paragraphs. On the preview view though you can’t really tell where a new paragraph starts

My DS used this website to check the formatting.

No the submitted version does not show those line number landless and is much like any other typed essay. You will be able to see how it looks after submitting the personal statement.

Without line spaces between paragraphs it can look like a wall of text and be difficult to read, and difficult to pick out the import points your DS wants to get a across. Typically 3600-3700 characters would get you enough lines for proper spacing.

Admission tutors must have hundreds of these to skim through so best to make it easy for them.

Thank you that’s really helpful.
