I'm in my 40s.
I'm worried that my unimpressive degree 20+ years ago will not be enough to get me on the course. It's also rather complicated trying to work out the external transfer credit from another country when nothing was online back then.
Will wait and see what they say.

Hi,OP -

Submitting your application was a big step. I still remember how vulnerable I felt when applying for my Ph.D a long time ago now. Please let us know how it goes. I hope you are successful in this round, but if you aren’t we may have some ideas for you. Best wishes!

Hi OP, I am coming to the end of Masters degree (I have done it part time over two years while working full time). I didn't even have a previous degree but had some related course work and over ten years of experience working in the field. I have found the academic side of things tough (especially the writing) but I must say that the university has been very helpful and patient with explaining to me the requirements of assignments etc. I am sure you'll do great, as pp said, you've done the application so that's a hurdle you've overcome already, all the best 🤞

Depends on the subject but with so many masters students coming straight from ug and all 21/22 it's a joy to teach mature students who understand the application of the topic.

Hi. OP.
I am in a similar position, not sure my degree will be good enough. Despite teaching my subjects for 30 years I still have not plucked up the courage to apply as I am sure I will not be accepted.

Hello OP. I did my master's with the Open University a long time ago and loved it. It was hard work but so interesting. I hope it all goes well for you.

Thank you so much for the supportive messages.
I have FINALLY got the application accepted - now I have to wait to see if I'm accepted onto the course. I feel as though I deserve some sort of qualification for having successfully navigated the application process!

It is a very tick-box system geared to younger people who have all their recent info to hand. At one point I hit a stumbling block because I couldn't prove what O-levels I got!! As if my O-levels will have any bearing on what I might be capable of 30 years later! And I have no idea what my GPA was or if I even had one!
