I feel like I’d like to acknowledge it somehow, she is quite sad about it.

Only child so that possibly makes a difference, does not seem that long ago since first day at School 😞

Mine is a year behind yours so not there yet but assuming she isn't out with her friends then her favourite meal. Or a drink out, or favourite activity.

Longer term you could either as a surprise for the end of exams or with her create her own personal yearbook - with photos from throughout her school career. If you still have some of her old school uniform then find someone to make a memory bear. You could see if the school library accept donations and she could donate a copy of her favourite book so she is leaving a part of her there.

It is good that she has such positive memories of school so maybe focus on the fun times.

Great ideas, I was going to attempt to make a patchwork quilt with her old uniform, although an amateur it might keep me busy.

How did the last day go? Hope she had a good day and her exams go well.

Yep mine handed his final project in at College so that’s it until Uni. He couldn’t really celebrate as his mates haven’t finished and frankly they aren’t “go down the pub” friends at all.
He’s not bothered that he’s finished and is just desperate to get to Uni. He’s already buying stuff to take with him.

I love the patchwork idea. All our uniform went to the second hand uniform shop though.

No we didn’t do anything. DS is in full on revision mode with a timetable detailing every moment so didn’t want to suggest a meal! Will do something for his last exam I think (meal probably). Have a big holiday planner the day after A level results which is just a few days after his 18th Birthday
