Thanks @Benjispruce4 - Will share that!

Good luck @CoffeeWithCheese- that’s a great achievement whether it’s a 2:1 or a first!

jano69 · 29/06/2022 14:12

Thanks for the live stream link Benji, that means the grandparents can watch DS go up on Friday morning. Very kind of you to share.

So pleased you had a wonderful time in Durham.

Good luck @CoffeeWithCheese

Benjispruce4 · 29/06/2022 15:35

Re the link, you will need to prepare them for a possible long wait , depending which subject they do first. They said no filming inside the cathedral but everyone did so we managed to film DD’s moment without interfering with anyone else’s view as the screen was so close. My DF had it on while he pottered around and he pricked his ears when he heard DD’s name as they call it before. On entry to cathedral you get a schedule and list of names. DD wa a halfway down (alphabetical order)the 5th of 7 pages of about 50 names!!

Graduands were sent this but DD didn’t share until quite late but it was helpful on the day.

Thanks again @Benjispruce4!

I am hoping that DS (and his gf) can get him up and out in time. Lucky he only lives a 5min walk or 2min run away from the cathedral!

MargaretThursday · 29/06/2022 18:12

Thanks for the link. I've sent it to the grandparents.

ZandathePanda · 29/06/2022 23:43

Dd got the last of her module marks back today - she’s got a first again and in all 9 that feed into the final classification so Friday’s confirmation ‘result’ should be ok!

We are so proud of what she’s achieved - particularly under difficult home circumstances mixed in with the pandemic. She even planned to get her dissertation done early as there was a chance she’d get covid (going to the first concert in 2 years). She did and she did!

Now she’s ploughing through job applications and re-editing the CV again….

Benjispruce4 · 30/06/2022 07:42

Oh that’s marvellous @ZandathePanda very well done and big congratulations to her!👏🤗

RampantIvy · 30/06/2022 07:42

Well done to your DD @ZandathePanda.
DD's department have been very tight lipped about results. She is extremely nervous, and thinks she might find out today as the examining board sat the day before yesterday, and results should be out within 48 hours.

ZandathePanda · 30/06/2022 08:13

Thank you both. A lot of the humanities and social sciences found out yesterday but hers are officially Friday. Good luck @RampantIvy Dd!

bigTillyMint · 30/06/2022 08:19

Wow! Well done to your DD @ZandathePanda - that’s fantastic, especially given what she’s been through!

jano69 · 30/06/2022 09:10

Very well done to your DD @ZandathePanda, an amazing achievement.

MargaretThursday · 30/06/2022 12:34

Well done to your dd Zanda and good luck to yours Ivy.

Currently in line for the queue to get into the Cathedral... Or rather dh is. I'm sitting in a doorway as I can't stand too long.

VanCleefArpels · 30/06/2022 13:52

Results are in here - smiles all round. What’s really lovely is DD is almost more happy about her friends’ results than her own. After all they have gone through it warms the cockles that she has these strong bonds to take onwards

bigTillyMint · 30/06/2022 14:15

It certainly does @VanCleefArpels - DS was pleased for his friends too.

He has apparently been cleaning the bathroom in their flat 😯ready for moving out!

ifonly4 · 30/06/2022 15:07

They've all done so well. Hope you all enjoy the graduations. DD still has another year to go, so have this all in front of us.

DD's friend got a first. She has been been offered a last minute interview for medicine and they phoned the same day to offer her a place. Such good news after all the hard work.

bigTillyMint · 30/06/2022 15:12

@ifonly4, well done to her - was she doing biomed? I know it’s very competitive to transfer

RedHelenB · 30/06/2022 18:44

Wow, well done on all the good news and can't believe some have graduated already, doesn't seem two minutes since they were setting off for uni.

icanbewhatiwant · 30/06/2022 19:45

Well done to all those with the grades they hoped for.

LouisCatorze · 01/07/2022 10:21

It's shocking how quickly time passes isn't it @RedHelenB ?

How did the rest of the Durham graduation ceremonies go this week?

RampantIvy · 01/07/2022 11:16

I'm bursting full of pride (and relief). In spite of battling chronic fatigue, frequent migraines and covid in the middle of her dissertation DD achieved a good first.

I'm so proud of her. I hope everyone else waiting for results has good news as well, and congratuations to everyone else's DC if I have missed them.

Phew!

ZandathePanda · 01/07/2022 11:25

@RampantIvy Oooo so happy for you both! What an achievement. I logged in hoping to see your news today. I know it’s been such a slog for her at times. Well done to her ⭐️

RampantIvy · 01/07/2022 11:26

Thank you @ZandathePanda. I hope your DD2 has survived her A levels. I have thought about you often.

LouisCatorze · 01/07/2022 11:38

@RampantIvy that is brilliant for your DD!

bigTillyMint · 01/07/2022 14:33

Congratulations to your DD @RampantIvy!

Graduation drinks, dinner then Stag after was great yesterday. Felt a bit rough at the ceremony this morning - crack of dawn! But revived a bit with a sausage bap and then hair of the dog at the faculty drinks, and out for late lunch now. Might be an early night though!
