A-Level choice for engineering

My DS is choosing his a-levels and was set on Maths, Physics and DT as as well an EPQ instead of further maths as all school careers advice has pointed him to engineering. He’s a good all rounder predicted all 8/9s but is now worried he enjoys Geography/History more than physics. Would he be scuppering his engineering plans if he he replaced physics with a humanity or should he not even consider engineering if he doesn’t love physics. He doesn’t have any ideas about career other than engineering. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks

I was wondering about that too! GrinYes, yours can leave that awhile, though (assuming things are the same now) he'll have to do some relevant internships during his summer vacs during his course, Panicmode1.

For the OPs DS, the Headstart schemes can be useful for firming up choices in engineering.

He definitely needs Maths and Physics, the third subject could be a humanity. My DS is in the final year of a Mechanical Engineering Meng and about 1/2 of the course seems to be applied maths and physics. He was going to do Maths/Physics and History but switched the third subject to Chemistry at A level enrolment.

@myhousebuild similar to your DH mine did BTEC and HND. maths was the subject he wished he’d studied further.
