Edinburgh Uni '22 entry

Apparently they are expecting 60k applicants this year Shock. Is that normal or is this a bubble year? We already know that the number of places on my DD's preferred course is tiny so this choice looks like a bit of a punt!

Edinburgh university has some of the best stats on their website re admissions. 60k is normal. You can find offer rate by subject as well. Here is the link:

I think 60k applicants is a bit more than pre pandemic but less than last year. I suspect they might need to watch offer numbers going forward as accommodation has been difficult with two bulge years and less doing year abroad. Maybe they will take more local Scottish students.

They used to publish offer rates by fee status which DD found useful. Helped manage her expectations.

DD loving the city and her course.

Thanks - that link is very helpful. Looks like ~60k is not unusual. Now have to get the digital portfolio ready..... 🤞

Good luck I had a DC submitting Digital Portfolios last year! It’s very time consuming when everywhere wants a different format and a different number of slides!

We had a letter from the school forwarded from Edinburgh Uni.

They were warning that grade offers would likely be higher on average this year due to demand.

TBH though I’m not sure it’s demand rather than they want more high paying international students…we’ll that is the local rumour.

Genuinely best of luck to anyone applying. Middle DD is there and loves it.
